A devastating fire tore through a Howard County home over the weekend, leaving a family displaced and claiming the life of a beloved pet. At approximately 6:30 p.m. on Jan. 25, Howard County Fire and Rescue crews responded to a blaze in the 2800 block of Belle Hollow Court. Several pets had to be treated and a person was displaced following a weekend house fire in Prince George's County, officials say. At approximately 6:15 p.m. on Sunday afternoon, first responders were called to a two-story residence in the 6600 block of Karlson Court in Chillum, where there was "a home with excessive storage conditions and fire in the basement." Firefighters came to the aid of several family pets that found themselves in a perilous position when a Carroll County home went up in flames on Tuesday afternoon.
