MTA Metro Subway Stations To Close For Weekend Test Of New System In Maryland
There will be service disruptions for Maryland subway riders this weekend, officials are cautioning. All MTA Metro Subway stations will be closed to allow the organization to test a new Communications Based Train Control system that should be fortuitous for travelers following the closure. Officials said that "the CTBC is a critical piece of infrastructure that will support the new Metro Subway railcars that will begin service in mid-2025." This marks the first test. Investigators have identified Ida Berry as the person who was killed over the summer following a chain-reaction crash after she was rear-ended by a speeding driver, authorities announced this week.
