A community is in mourning after a 16-year-old girl from Southern Maryland was killed by another teen in Washington early on Sunday morning one day before she was set to return to school. Waldorf resident Naima Liggon has been identified by the Metropolitan Police as the teen who was killed by another 16-year-old on Sunday, Aug. 27. An investigation has been launched by the Charles County Sheriff’s Office after a high school student was found semi-conscious after potentially ingesting an edible laced with fentanyl. At approximately 10:45 a.m. on Wednesday, March 22, a student was found on a bathroom floor inside St. Charles High School and had to be treated by a school nurse until the teen could be rushed to an area hospital. Students in Charles County did not make it easy for the police officers assigned to their buildings on Thursday. A School Resource Officer (SRO) at Thomas Stone High School was assaulted shortly before 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, March 2, as he attempted to break up a group of students who were threatening physical harm to another teen.
