There will be an increased police presence in Lexington Park following several reported unprovoked assaults, according to the St. Mary's County Sheriff's Office. Detectives are investigating three separate reports of assaults that were called in on Wednesday morning on Great Mills Road near St. Mary’s Square and the South Coral Drive areas. The attacks resulted in minor injuries, with one person being taken to an area hospital for further treatment and evaluation.
