A 28-year-old Maryland woman was killed after a tractor-trailer struck her SUV and dragged it down the road in a violent crash in Montgomery County, police said on Monday. Jiwon Kim, of Silver Spring, was pronounced dead at the scene following the wreck, which happened just before 12:50 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 28, at the intersection of Layhill and Norbeck roads, according to Montgomery County Police. Some motorists were held up on Wednesday afternoon in Montgomery County when a dump truck overturned and spilled debris into a busy roadway. Fourth District units were called at around 2 p.m. on Oct. 9 to a stretch of Layhill Road near Norbeck Road, which led to delays for some travelers heading through the area in the area of Aspen Hill. A 77-year-old woman from Montgomery County was killed and a man taken to the hospital following a two-car crash Monday afternoon, March 11, police said. It happened at the intersection of Layhill Road and Bel Pre Road shortly before 2:35 p.m. Maria Perdomo, of Silver Spring, was making a left turn from northbound Layhill Road onto westbound Bel Pre Road in a red 2013 Subaru Outback when she collided with a black 2019 Tesla Model Y that was heading southbound on Layhill Road.
