More than 61,000 gun cases sold nationwide are being recalled due to a malfunction that can allow unauthorized people to access dangerous weapons, and already led to the death of a child. Illinois-based Fortress Safe announced this week that the biometric gun safes were being recalled due to a "serious safety hazard and risk of death" caused by a programming feature that made the safes more accessible. New derogatory “challenge coins” created by Maryland State Police officials have some in the agency in hot water in recent years, according to a new Baltimore Sun report. According to the report, in recent years, at least four members of the department have been disciplined for a “series of questionable tokens” that contain graphic or offensive language and imagery. The US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) issued warning letters to four companies that allegedly illegally sold honey-based products that could contain drug ingredients found in erectile dysfunction medication. Testing by the FDA found that products being sold throughout the East Coast could pose a significant health risk to consumers due to the presence of drug ingredients that can be found in Cialis (tadalafil) and Viagra (sildenafil). A former Maryland State Police trooper has been identified as the person responsible for the controversial “challenge coins” that included the agency’s shield that made the rounds.
