Threats of violence at a Prince George's County high school were proven to be unfounded, but not before giving some administrators a scare on Tuesday morning. Investigators were called in early on Sept. 24 to Bladensburg High School on 57th Avenue to probe a reported threat of violence that was made by a group of students, officials say. A Maryland man who stashed kilos of cocaine in the woods will spend more than a decade in prison, the St. Mary's County State's Attorney's Office announced on Monday night. Laray Anthony Maddox, 42, was sentenced to 30 years with all but 11 years and six months to serve following the recovery of at least four pounds of cocaine in 2022 that were found in a secluded wooded area not far from his California home. A man and girl were killed, and a woman was wounded in a triple-shooting in Maryland Wednesday night, Feb. 28. It happened in a home on the 6900 block of Stansbury Lane in Landover around 9:30 p.m., Prince George’s County Police said.
