Man Chases Woman With Knife, Threatens To Kill Her, Child In Bergen County Town: Police
A heavily intoxicated man chased a woman from a Bergen County home with a knife after threatening to kill her and a child, authorities said.
Police were called to a Fairview home for a domestic incident involving a weapon in Fairview on Saturday, Aug. 22, around 8:20 p.m., Deputy Police Chief John Pierrotti said.
Eswuar Amilcar Herrera, 29, of a Guatemalan national, had gotten into an argument with the woman and threatened physical harm to her and the young child, Pierrotti said.

UPDATE: Authorities have released details and a possible motive in the deaths of retired Hudson Valley fire chief James "Jimmy" Brugger and his wife, Melinda "Mindy" Brugger.
James "Jimmy" Brugger, 66, and his wife, Melinda "Mindy" Brugger, 54, were found dead in the Milton Turnpike home in Plattekill, Lt. Collin Reynolds said.
"The investigation is active at this time, however we don’t have any reason to believe there is any danger to the public," Reynolds said.
