A 21-year-old woman from Waldorf was found dead early Friday in what investigators believe may have been a hit-and-run crash, according to the Charles County Sheriff’s Office. The discovery was made around 7:15 a.m. on Jan. 10, when a patrol officer traveling on Smallwood Drive West near St. Patrick’s Drive noticed a body lying in the eastbound lane. At the same time, a concerned citizen called 911 to report the incident. The Prince George’s County Police Department is investigating a fatal single-vehicle crash that claimed the life of a local man early Christmas morning. The victim, identified as 27-year-old Darin Burns Jr. of Upper Marlboro, was killed after his vehicle veered off the road and struck a tree in the 12000 block of Duley Station Road. An investigation has been launched following a triple fatal crash involving a senior-living assisted living facility bus and dump truck in Charles County, state police say.
