New details have been released by the Prince George's County Police Department after a 37-year-old woman was struck and killed by a hit-and-run driver over the weekend. Temple Hills resident Portia Newton has been identified by investigators as the person who was found in the roadway on Saturday night. According to police, at around 8:50 p.m. on Nov. 16, officers were called to the 4400 block of Saint Barnabas Road, where they found Newton suffering from traumatic injuries. Police have identified the man killed in a hit-and-run crash in Prince George’s County earlier this month. William Wayland, 56, of Potomac, was walking along Saint Barnabas Road in Temple Hills just midnight on Saturday, Jan. 13 when he was struck by a driver who sped off, Prince George's County Police said. Wayland was pronounced dead at the scene. Meanwhile, the driver remains at large. Police are working to identify the driver involved in a fatal hit-and-run crash that was reported late in Prince George's County on Saturday night. A pedestrian was walking along Saint Barnabas Road shortly before midnight on Jan. 13 when they were struck by a driver who proceeded to speed away, rather than stopping in Temple Hills. Police have identified the 46-year-old man who was killed after being struck by two drivers earlier this week in Prince George's County.
