Pedestrian Walking In Roadway Fatally Struck By Driver In St. Mary's County: Sheriff
One driver was able to avoid a pedestrian from South Carolina, but a second was unable to swerve out of the way in St. Mary's County, resulting in a fatal strike, the sheriff says. Gaston resident Lew William Chavis, 39, has been identified by officials as the pedestrian killed in an early morning strike in Charlotte Hall.
