Childs was found shot and killed in Northwest DC. Over the summer, officers were called to investigate a midday shooting in the 100 block of Farragut Street NW, where they found the father of six suffering from a gunshot wound inside an area residence, investigators said. The homicide was reported shortly before 2:45 p.m. on Sunday, July 30.
