Alek Michael Richardson, 20, of Huntingtown, has been identified by the Calvert County Sheriff's Office as the motorcyclist who was killed after losing control and crashing into a parked vehicle in Prince Frederick earlier this week.

Deputies from the sheriff's office were called at approximately 9:15 p.m. on Wednesday, June 14 to the 3600 block of Cassell Boulevard, where there was a report of a biker who was down.

The investigation found that Richardson was driving a Suzuki GSX-R600 motorcycle on Cassell Boulevard when he lost control and struck a small SUV parked in an area driveway.

Richardson was ejected from the bike and became trapped under the SUV, according to the sheriff.

Paramedics were called to the scene by deputies, and Richardson was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash.

"At this time, speed and failure to control the vehicle are factors in the crash," investigators said.

The incident remains under investigation.

Any witnesses have been asked to contact members of the sheriff's office Crash Reconstruction Team by calling (410) 535-2800.
