A midshipman was shot and a naval security officer was hurt during the security scare that forced a lockdown at the US Naval Academy in Annapolis, officials confirmed. The lockdown began around 5:07 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 11, after reports of a security concern on campus, according to Naval Academy Public Affairs. A Chief Petty Officer of the US Navy stationed in Virginia pleaded guilty this week to stealing military equipment and later reselling it online, federal authorities announced.
