Large Brush Fire Burns Several Acres Of Land In Prince George's County (Developing)

A fast-moving brush fire swept through several acres of land in Prince George's County on Wednesday morning, officials confirmed.

Around 10:30 a.m., first responders were dispatched to the 4700 block of Springmaid Lane in Oxon Hill, where a blaze had erupted and quickly spread across the area.

The fire scorched more than two acres before being brought under control shortly before 1 p.m. Crews remained on the scene throughout the afternoon to extinguish hot spots and prevent flare-ups.

Officials warned residents to expect emergency vehicles and smoky conditions in the area for several hours as crews worked to fully secure the scene.
