First Snowfall Predictions Released For New Storm: Here's How Much MD, VA, DC Could See The first snowfall projections have been released for a new winter storm on track to hit the Northeast in the middle of the week.  The system is expected to move from south to north starting late Wednesday afternoon, Feb. 19, according to the National Weather Service. Precipitation is predicted to continue at times until around midday on Thursday, Feb. 20. Thunderstorms May Cause Travel Issues, Power Outages In DMV Region: Forecasters Travel disruptions are likely and power outages are a risk throughout the DMV region as severe storms are expected to roll through the area on Thursday, forecasters are cautioning.
