An attack inside a Meade High School bathroom left a 17-year-old student fighting for his life, and two other students are now facing attempted murder charges, Anne Arundel County police say. The stabbing happened shortly after 10 a.m. on Thursday, Jan. 23, when a School Resource Officer found the victim in a second-floor bathroom at the school suffering from multiple stab wounds. Two schools in Prince George's County were temporarily locked down amid an ongoing investigation, police say. At approximately 10 a.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 29, Crossland High School and Thurgood Marshall Middle School in Temple Hills were placed in a precautionary lockdown. According to the Prince George's County Police Department, the lockdown was "out of an abundance of caution due to an investigation nearby unrelated to the school." A suspicious person purportedly packing a handgun near a few schools in Montgomery County has caused alarm for some in the area. At around 9 a.m. on Friday morning, Wheaton High School and the Thomas Edison High School of Technology were ordered to shelter in place and were later later locked down amid the investigation into the armed man. William Raynard Herold is back in custody less than two hours after he escaped in Annapolis while being transported to a detention center, police confirmed. Shortly before noon on Thursday, July 11, an alert was issued by the Annapolis Police Department advising that officers, state police, and a police helicopter were hunting for the wanted 22-year-old man, who made his way to a wooded area near the Annapolis Exchange.
