Some motorists were held up on Wednesday afternoon in Montgomery County when a dump truck overturned and spilled debris into a busy roadway. Dinora Aleman Amaya was on her way home from work in Montgomery County when she was struck and killed by a vehicle while crossing the road in Gaithersburg, friends say. Investigators have identified the 30-year-old single mother of two from Germantown as the pedestrian who was fatally struck crossing Great Seneca Highway near Kentlands Boulevard on Monday night. Bus Stop Destroyed After Car Caroms Into It Following Multi-Vehicle Crash In Montgomery County
Several lanes were temporarily blocked in Montgomery County on Wednesday morning after a multi-vehicle crash sent one through a bus stop in Hillandale. Montgomery County Fire and Rescue personnel were called to the area of New Hampshire Avenue and Chalmers Road at around 7:30 a.m. on Oct. 9, where there was a crash involving two vehicles, officials said. A Maryland State Police helicopter proved critical in rescuing a group of kayakers who became stranded in rough waters in the Potomac River on Sunday afternoon.
