A Virginia father is facing a long recovery after falling more than a dozen feet from a ladder while working on a job, his family said. On Saturday, Aug. 30, Christopher Sullivan was pressure washing a metal roof when the washer got wedged between the roof and ladder, leading to a dangerous situation. As he tried to free it, the ladder shifted left, sending Sullivan and the machine tumbling nearly 15 feet onto asphalt, according to his wife. A man died after falling 25 feet from a roof at the Utz Potato Factory in Hanover, York County officials announced on Friday, May 2. The fall was reported to York County 911 at 8:35 a.m. from the factory located at 900 High Street, according to the Office of Emergency Management. At 8:55 a.m., Hanover Borough Police requested the York County Coroner to respond to the scene, the coroner's office confirmed to Daily Voice that they responded to the scene. Worker In Montgomery County: Police
A 39-year-old WSCC worker was killed after being struck by a DUI driver early Sunday, Sept. 8 in Montgomery County, police said. Clinton's Ernest Joseph Dyson was working at New Hampshire Avenue and Rodney Road in Hillandale, when he was struck by a 2011 Volkswagen CC around 4:40 a.m., police said. He was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of a black 2011 Volkswagen CC was reportedly uninjured. Dyson, a WSSC Water employee, was on the job at the time he was struck, according to police.
