Fire At Popular Maryland Pub Won't Keep Doors Closed For Long A small fire at a popular Cecil County pub won’t keep the doors closed for long.  Sweeney’s Pub on Conowingo Road in Conowingo, suffered minor damage after a blaze broke out in an exterior trash can Friday morning, temporarily pausing operations at the beloved restaurant and bar, according to investigators. The fire, which began around 8 a.m. on Dec. 20, was quickly controlled by the Water Witch Volunteer Fire Company.  Thirty firefighters responded to the single-alarm blaze and had it under control within 20 minutes, though it caused an estimated $5,000 in damage for the owners.…
