Suicidal Knife-Wielding Man Shot By Officers In Maryland, Police Say
A knife-wielding man is recovering in the hospital after being shot by police in Maryland during a confrontation in Baltimore County, authorities announced.
The shooting was reported around 9:30 p.m. on Thursday, May 15, in the 1000 block of Pine Road in Essex, according to the Baltimore County Police Department.
Officers had been called to the area for a report of a missing “suicidal subject,” police said.
When they arrived, they located the man, who has not been identified, armed with a knife.

A Maryland man will spend at least the next three decades behind bars for his role in a deadly drive-by shooting that killed a teenager in Montgomery County, prosecutors announced.
Kyler Mcroy, 22, of Gaithersburg, was sentenced to life in prison, with all but 30 years suspended, in connection to the 2022 shooting death of 19-year-old Keon Jones in Gaithersburg, according to the Montgomery County State’s Attorney’s Office.
The sentence, handed down on Friday, May 9, also includes five years of supervised probation after Mcroy’s release.

Three suspects have been charged with murder in connection with the fatal shooting of a 15-year-old boy in Maryland, police announced.
Darrell Williams, 34, Zion Wimbish, 19, and Ra'Shawn Smith, 19, were arrested by Baltimore Police for the May 7 murder of John Lewis, a 15-year-old boy who was found shot in the city’s Eastern District.
The shooting happened around 6:15 p.m. on Wednesday, near the 3500 block of Brehms Lane, according to police.

Demari Howard Brown, 20, of Montgomery Village, was arrested Thursday, May 1 by the US Marshals Fugitive Task Force, days after Henry Krishawn Gilbert, 20, was found shot behind the wheel of a wrecked car on Brookridge Court.
