Two Northern Virginia men who flaunted mountains of cash, designer jewelry, and guns while trafficking deadly counterfeit fentanyl pills across the DMV are now headed to federal prison for decades, prosecutors announced.
Dontavious Rashid Whitaker, 28, of Alexandria, was sentenced to 20 years in prison, while D’Moni Anthony Moten, 27, of Woodbridge, was sentenced to 16 years and eight months for their roles in a years-long drug trafficking conspiracy tied to fentanyl, heroin, and carfentanil.

Leysean Anthony Blair, 18, of Spotsylvania County, was arrested Tuesday, Sept. 16, in connection with a shooting that left a 16-year-old boy wounded, according to the Spotsylvania County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies first responded around 6:30 p.m. Monday, Sept. 15, to the 10900 block of Taney Drive for reports of a shooting, the sheriff’s office said.

A 56-year-old Maryland man is facing charges after officers say they caught him with a rifle, stolen handguns, boxes of ammunition, and body armor outside Arundel Mills.
Anne Arundel County Police said officers responded around 8:45 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 11, to the 7000 block of Arundel Mills Circle in Hanover after reports of a suspicious vehicle.
When they got there, they found a blue 2016 Ford Explorer parked and unoccupied — but in plain sight inside the open trunk was a semi-automatic rifle, investigators said.
