A 95-year-old woman has been charged with murder after allegedly beating a fellow resident and Holocaust survivor to death inside a Brooklyn nursing home. Galina Smirnova, 95, was arrested Tuesday, Sept. 16, and charged with murder and criminal possession of a weapon in connection with the death of 89-year-old Nina Kravtsov, an NYPD spokesperson told Daily Voice. A rise in dementia cases could be linked to Americans' appetite for one of its favorite foods. Findings suggest that rising dementia cases in the US may be linked to a preference for meats. Missing Endangered Alert Canceled Pennsylvania Man Found In Maryland
A missing endangered person alert has been canceled for a South Central Pennsylvania man who was last seen in Maryland, police announced Wednesday night, Oct. 9. Harry Joseph Runkle was just 10 days shy of his 77th birthday when he went missing, according to the York County Regional Police. Runkle is from the 4900 block of N. Sherman Street in Mount Wolf, East Manchester Township, police explained. He had last been seen at the Naval Academy in Annapolis, MD, at 5 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 9.
