Shortly after 3 p.m. on Friday afternoon, first responders were called to the area of Gaither Road and Railroad Avenue in Sykesville, where there was an injured hiker who fell approximately 20 feet down an embankment while walking in a wooded area. Due to the location of the hiker, and the purportedly prolonged time it would take to extricate them, the state police helicopter was called into perform a medevac. …

Ten people were removed from the Potomac River by crews in Montgomery County and Fairfax County after they were stranded on an island and their kayak went rogue and floated downstream. Today, at 228pm, @mcfrs Swift Water Team members were dispatched for a group of people stranded on an island, after their red kayak floated downstream.
