Chaos ensued for police who broke up what they called a “reckless driving meet-up” in Montgomery County over the weekend. The Takoma Park Police Department arrived to investigate the meet-up at the intersection of New Hampshire and Ethan Allen Avenues around 11:15 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 10 and saw several vehicles doing burnouts, donuts, and other dangerous maneuvers surrounded by a large crowd. A reward is still on the table in Maryland as police continue to investigate a Takoma Park murder that left a mechanic fatally shot by an unknown assailant, authorities say. As previously reported by Daily Voice, Nurhusen Muhammed Hamid was shot in the parking lot of Advanced Auto Parts in the 6300 block of New Hampshire Avenue, around 11:05 a.m., Saturday, July 16, according to Takoma Park police. A young teenage girl has been charged after making threats of mass violence against Takoma Park Middle School, authorities say. The 13-year-old allegedly left a voicemail to the school threatening a shooting shortly after 10 a.m., Wednesday, July 6, according to the Takoma Park Police Department. The middle school was placed under lockdown as a precaution as summer school had been in session.
