National Philharmonic Welcomes Historically Black Church Choir, Donate Proceeds
Days after news broke of a racist vandalism of a historically black church in Potomac, the National Philharmonic's Messiah performances will welcome the vandalized church's choir to the stage. Two upcoming National Philharmonic Messiah performances will donate funds toward the Scotland A.M.E Zion Church, which is making headlines after it was vandalized on the night of Friday, Nov. 25, states a spokesperson for National Philharmonic. Montgomery County church vandals are on the loose after police say several suspects broke into the place of worship before vandalizing property and fleeing the scene last month. The burglary occurred around 11 p.m., Friday, Nov. 25, at the Scotland AME Zion Church located in the 10900 block of Seven Locks Road in Potomac, according to Montgomery County police. Surveillance footage was able to capture the suspects in the act, and has been released in an effort to identify the vandals.
