Three people were injured when a small plane en route from Maryland crashed on a snowy mountainside in Vermont. The incident happened near Mt. Equinox, in the town of Manchester, Vermont, at around 8:30 a.m Wednesday, Feb. 26, according to Manchester Police. The plane, a Piper Cherokee Charger, had taken off from Martin State Airport in Middle River, Maryland, shortly after 6 a.m., Baltimore station WBAL reports. A New Jersey man who repeatedly stabbed author Salman Rushdie on stage at a New York speaking engagement was convicted of attempted murder. Hadi Matar, 27, of Fairview, was also found guilty of assault in Chautauqua County Court on Friday, Feb. 21, for injuring another attendee following two hours of jury deliberations, Buffalo NBC affiliate WGRZ reports.
