Chaos ensued for police who broke up what they called a “reckless driving meet-up” in Montgomery County over the weekend. The Takoma Park Police Department arrived to investigate the meet-up at the intersection of New Hampshire and Ethan Allen Avenues around 11:15 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 10 and saw several vehicles doing burnouts, donuts, and other dangerous maneuvers surrounded by a large crowd. A reward is still on the table in Maryland as police continue to investigate a Takoma Park murder that left a mechanic fatally shot by an unknown assailant, authorities say. Takoma Park police are investigating an assault after a victim was beaten over the head after getting out of a Metro bus, according to reports by MyMCM. The victim allegedly got out of the Metro bus by Larch and New Hampshire Avenue and was assaulted by the suspect at the Sunoco gas station in the 6900 block of New Hampshire Avenue around 1 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 13, continues the outlet. The victim of a weekend shooting in Takoma Park has been identified as a Silver Spring man, police say. Nurhusen Muhammed Hamid, 27, succumbed to his injuries Sunday after being shot around 11 a.m., Saturday, July 16 in the parking lot of the Advance Auto Parts store in the 6300 block of New Hampshire Avenue, Takoma Park police say.
