TikTok Adding Amber Alerts To 'For You' Pages: How The App Could Help Save Lives
Amber alerts are now live on TikTok nationwide, putting urgent information about missing children directly in front of millions of users within seconds. TikTok announced it was launching amber alerts on "For You" pages in a news release on Thursday, Mar. 20. The move is part of a partnership with the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children. Seen him? The National Center For Missing & Exploited Children is seeking the public's assistance as they hope to track down a young man who has been missing for more than a year in Virginia. An alert was issued for Carlos Carballo-Rivas, who would now be 21 years old, and has not been seen since Nov. 27, 2021, when he went missing out of Alexandria. Seen her? An alert has been issued by the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children as authorities attempt to locate a teen reported missing out of Boonsboro who is known to frequent Montgomery County. Washington County resident Skylar Paige, 16, was last seen on Sunday, July 17, according to authorities, when she was wearing a black Flying Aces hoodie, and black sweatpants.
