Death Ruled Homicide Day After Body Found In Maryland Woods: Police The death of a 35-year-old man found in a patch of Maryland woods is being investigated as a homicide. Delondre Levert Sawyer, of Germantown, was found unresponsive in a wooded area near the 11200 block of Game Preserve Road in Gaithersburg on Thursday, February 8 and later pronounced dead, Montgomery County Police said. An autopsy conducted on Sawyer’s body located a gunshot wound and ruled his manner of death a homicide. Stephen Lavance Oates, Jr., 35, and Katrice Ceclia Wood, 29, were arrested and charged for robberies committed Monday, Jan. 8 and Wednesday, Jan. 10, Montgomery County Police said. Marion Edward Pearson Jr., 65, was linked to the crime through the FBI's National DNA Index System on Monday, Oct. 31 after Cold Case detectives submitted evidence from the open rape case to the system in March of 2022, according to Montgomery County Police.
