Maryland State Police Hunt Hit-Run Driver After Child Killed Falling From Vehicle On I-97 Maryland State Police are investigating a tragic hit-and-run incident in Anne Arundel County that claimed the life of a 7-year-old boy on Sunday night. The boy, who was a rear passenger in a 2011 Mazda 3 driven by his grandmother, 66-year-old Hagerstown resident Lorraine O'Neill, was pronounced dead at the scene by emergency personnel following the crash, police say. Ranck was the first on scene of the crash at Route 50 and I-97 around 12:30 p.m. Bodycam footage shows officer smashing the windows of a black pickup truck. Jason Tyler Crawford was heading west on Route 100 in a Honda Accord EX when he lost control near the I-97 overpass and struck a concrete barrier around 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 15, Anne Arundel County police said.
