A man described by authorities as a "violent predator" was sentenced to life in prison without parole on Monday, Sept. 9 for kidnapping, robbing, and killing a Pennsylvania co-worker, authorities announced.
Michael Allen Stark, 50, of Royersford, PA was found guilty by a Bucks County jury of first-degree murder, second-degree murder, robbery, kidnapping, theft by unlawful taking, flight to avoid apprehension, and abuse of a corpse, according to District Attorney Jennifer Schorn and court records.

Passenger Killed In NJ Turnpike Crash
A passenger was killed when the vehicle she was traveling in crashed on the New Jersey Turnpike, authorities said.
The SUV was traveling south near milepost 18.5 in West Deptford Township at about 4 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 18, when it left the roadway to the right and struck a guardrail, according to New Jersey State Police.
A passenger in the vehicle, Kayla Rodriguez, 26, of Falls Church, VA, died of her injuries, State Police said.
Authorities did not say if the driver, a 30-year-old Falls Church man, or a young passenger were hurt.
The crash remains under investigation.

Police have arrested the man who stabbed a Falls Church woman to death before setting her on fire, officials said.
On August 10 at around 3 p.m., police responded to the 2900 block of Willston Place where they found Silvia Abacay, 40, of Falls Church, on fire and suffering from multiple stab wounds, according to the Fairfax County Police Department.
Fire officials put out the flames and Abacay was pronounced dead the scene, police reported.

Former DC Principal Gets 30 Months For Embezzling 175K Meant For Student Affairs
A former D.C. principal was sentenced to 30 months in prison on Wednesday, August 3, for embezzling $175,000, officials said. Bridget Coates, 49, of Falls Church was formerly the principal of St. Thomas More Catholic School, where her embezzlement scheme ran, depositing about 66 unauthorized checks, from 2012 to 2017, according to the U.S. Attorney's Office.
