Mother Of Four Killed In 'Senseless Act Of Violence' In Maryland Community support is swelling for a mother of four in Baltimore who was killed in what her family described as "a senseless act of violence."  On Thursday, May 9, officers from the Baltimore Police Department were called to a home in the 2100 block of East Preston Street, where they found 40-year-old Janelle Desormeaux unresponsive suffering from trauma to her body. She was pronounced dead at the scene, reportedly days after she was killed. No suspect has been apprehended or charged in connection to her murder a week later. It remains under investigation. The victim was found after an officer on patrol noticed smoke in the 1500 block of East Preston Street around 2:20 p.m., Sunday, July 31, according to Baltimore police. Upon arrival at the scene, officers found a vehicle engulfed in flames under trees and shrubs, police said.  The operator of the vehicle was pronounced dead on the scene by medics a short time later. A 24-year-old female victim was found suffering from lacerations on the 2800 block of East Preston Street around 12:23 p.m., Tuesday, June 21, according to Baltimore Police. The victim was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment of her injuries. The suspect, a 25-year-old woman, had allegedly cut the victim during a physical fight. She was arrested on the scene.
