Shots Fired As Dog Owner Chases After DC Gunman With Stolen Pup
Authorities in Washington DC are seeking the person responsible for stealing a pitbull at gunpoint. The suspect pulled out a handgun and demanded the 5-month-old pit mix from her owner on Wednesday, Oct. 12 on the 4500 block of Polk Street around 10:30 p.m., the Metro Police Department said. As the suspect ran from the scene, the victim ran after the suspect. The suspect fired the handgun in the direction of the victim and fled the scene with the victim’s dog. The victim was not injured. A group of dognappers is at large in Maryland after stealing three animals during a sale gone wrong, police in Anne Arundel say. At approximately 9 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 2, officers from the Anne Arundel Police Department responded to a reported robbery that had just taken place in the 200 block of Etter Drive in Laurel. According to the victims, they met three suspects to sell a dog in the parking lot of an apartment complex at Jill Lane and Ertter Drive.
