Two University of Maryland Eastern Shore (UMES) students were killed, and two others suffered critical injuries after being struck head-on by a suspected intoxicated wrong-way driver in Delaware. Delaware State Police identified 22-year-old Eric Staley, of Fayetteville, North Carolina, and Willow Grove, Pennsylvania resident Makayla Belton, 18, as the two who were killed in a fatal crash on Sunday in Seaford involving a Honda Pilot and Nissan Rogue. A 54-year-old New Jersey man has been arrested after police in Delaware say he stole the vehicle of a Good Samaritan checking on him after a crash. A Red Lion 38-year-old man who had been missing for five days was found dead in Delaware, authorities say. Daniel Hesketh left his home on the 100 block of 1st Avenue in Red Lion Borough on January 13 around 10 p.m. and was last seen in Colerain Township, Lancaster County around noon the following day. A Maryland man who was struck and killed by a car after being ordered out of a Lyft in Delaware over the weekend has been identified as one of former Gov. Andrew Cuomo's previous staffers.
