Delivery Drivers Targeted In String Of Greenbelt Carjackings
Delivery drivers seemed to be the target of the night in Greenbelt after two were carjacked within an hour of each other, authorities say. A food delivery driver was first attacked around 8 p.m. on Wednesday, July 6, on the 7800 block of Hanover Parkway, according to Greenbelt Police. The victim's blue Toyota Corolla was taken by four men wearing all black and black face masks who were armed with a handgun, investigators said. National Recall Issued For 786K Swinging Hammock Chairs Due To Injury Hazard
New safety instructions are being provided to more than 750,000 consumers across the country after a national recall was issued for a popular brand of swinging hammock chairs. The Consumer Product Safety Commission announced a recall of approximately 786,000 RIO-branded chairs due to the improper insertion of pins provided for assembly that can cause the legs to collapse, creating a potential injury hazard to users. Amazon Buys Land In Northern Virginia For $87.8 Million
Google and Microsoft have a new neighbor in Prince William County. Reports said Amazon recently purchased nearly 60 acres of land to in Gainesville for nearly $90 million. BizJournal announced earlier this week that Amazon Web Services had purchased the land at 5845 Wellington Road for $87.8 million. The report said AWS purchased the same-sized lot next door for $52.4 million last year. Amazon has not commented on its plans for that location, but it adds to the company's holdings in northern Virginia. The land is in the county's Data Center Opportunity Overlay District. T…
