Woman Killed In Maryland Hit-Run Crash, Police Seek Driver

A 40-year-old woman is dead following a hit-and-run Friday night in Accokeek, sparking an ongoing investigation by the Prince George’s County Police Department.

Officers responded to the area of Indian Head Highway and Farmington Road around 9:50 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 22 after receiving reports of a pedestrian collision, police said.

When officers arrived, they found Loretta Canter-Andrews, of Accokeek, in the roadway suffering from severe traumatic injuries. 

She was pronounced dead at the scene, according to authorities.

Investigators say Canter-Andrews was struck in the northbound lanes of Indian Head Highway. The driver fled and did not remain at the scene.

Police are actively working to identify the driver and vehicle involved.
