Police in Baltimore County are working to determine the ID of a man pulled from the water at Gwynn Oak Park on Thursday morning. Officers were called to the park after receiving a report of a swift water rescue on Sept. 26, where paramedics were able to determine that the person was dead based on the condition of his body. According to investigators, the initial call was received at 9:15 a.m. on Thursday morning, though it took until around 11:45 a.m. to safely remove the body due to the location it was found. Woman, Dog Escape Safely After Crashing Into Prince George's County Pond
A woman was able to safely escape and rescue her dog after crashing into a Prince George's County pond on Wednesday morning. Shortly after 9:30 a.m. on Aug. 7, members of the Prince George's County Fire and Rescue Department were called to the 3400 block of Enterprise Road in Bowie to investigate a reported crash that resulted in one vehicle submerged in the water. Dive teams pulled a man from the Anacostia River after his car plunged into the water on Christmas Day. The call came in just before 2 p.m. at the 11th Street bridge, NBC Washington reports. The 18-year-old who drowned at Codorus State Park has been identified by the York County coroner's office. Jedaiah Silvanus-Lim, of Silver Springs, Maryland, was with "a small group of young people" who had been on a walk at the park when they decided to go for a swim on Tuesday, June 14, the coroner's release states. He was having difficulty swimming and went under the water, according to the release. Illegal Potomac River Swimmers Rescued After Near Drowning: Authorities
Two swimmers clung to rocks in the Potomac River before being rescued by officials earlier this week, authorities say. The swimmers, who were a part of a group of young people, entered the water near Lambert beach, when a strong current swept them away and prevented them from swimming back to shore, says Montgomery County Fire and Rescue. Swimming in the Potomac River is illegal and dangerous due to the strong currents and debris that lies beneath the surface of the deceptive water. Swimmers may be fined up to $200.
