Funeral Services Set For Lifelong Firefighter Who Served Community For 59 Years In Maryland
A man who spent decades risking his life to serve his community in Charles County has passed away, authorities announced. The Waldorf Volunteer Fire Department announced that Life Member Robert "Bob" Dofflemyer has died after being an active member of the agency for 59 years, holding offices that included the Chairman of the Board, president, and assistant fire chief. The sounds of items “popping" in a Maryland home helped a homeowner in Charles County avoid disaster when an overnight fire broke out. At approximately 9 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 21, members of the Waldorf Volunteer Fire Department responded to a home on Bannister Circle, where there was a reported garage fire that broke out in a single-family residence.
