Abortion Ruling: Man Scales Bridge, Protestors Bang Drums At Justice's Fairfax County Home
Protests erupted across Washington, D.C., and northern Virginia following Friday's Supreme Court ruling to overturn Roe v. Wade, which ended 50 years of federal abortion protections. A man slept on the Frederick Douglass Bridge Friday night, June 24, after hoisting a flag that read "Don't tread on my uterus." Virginia National Guard Deployed To Help With Snow Storm
Several days after a snowstorm clogged I-95 in Virginia and left thousands of commuters stranded for hours, the state's national guard has been activated to help with a second snowstorm. The Virginia National Guard has staged approximately 40 Soldiers and Airmen for severe winter weather response duty on Jan. 6. About 20 Soldiers are on duty in the Southwest Virginia area and ready to respond, and about 20 Airmen are mustered in the Virginia Beach area.
