Groundbreaking 'Vampire Virus' Discovered By Student Project In Maryland
A so-called "Vampire Virus" that latches onto and expands into other viruses has been identified by student researchers in the Maryland for the first time. The discovery came from a student project led by professor Tagide deCarvalho at the University of Maryland-Baltimore County which is outlined in the Journal of the International Society for Microbial Ecology. University Of Maryland Baltimore County Police Officer Charged After Series Of Campus Arsons
A University of Maryland Baltimore County (UMBC) police officer is under arrest and facing charges for allegedly setting multiple fires on campus while he was on duty, the state fire marshal announced. Walter Christopher, 36, has been charged on a 12-count indictment for allegedly setting four fires between December 2021 and his arrest on Tuesday, July 19 authorities said. Specifically, Christopher was charged with second-degree arson, second-degree malicious burning, and malicious destruction of property.
