Millions of Tesla vehicles are being recalled to fix an Autopilot safety problem that could lead to crashes including one in Virginia that claimed the life of a beloved baker. The auto giant announced the recall of more than two million vehicles following a two-year investigation by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) into several crashes - some fatal - that happened while drivers were not paying attention. Police have identified a 28-year-old Texas man as the Tesla driver who was killed in a single-car crash in Howard County overnight that led to lengthy lane closures when he took down a traffic light. Bryan Jesus Chaparro was pronounced dead at the scene by first responders shortly after 11:30 p.m. on Thursday, June 22 on Route 175 in Columbia, the Howard County Police Department announced. Body Of Missing Maryland Man Found In Trunk Of Abandoned Tesla In Ohio
Weeks after he was reported missing, the mystery of where Howard County resident Hajid Jordan had gone came to a tragic conclusion several states away. In Ohio, the Columbus Division of Police released surveillance photos and video (see above) this week of two suspects caught on camera who can be seen walking away from a rented Tesla last month, where Jordan’s body was found inside the trunk by investigators.
