The investigation into a reported domestic assault with multiple children inside a Charles County home landed a man behind bars overnight, according to the sheriff's office. Hughesville resident Brandon Wayne Blitch, 38, was arrested on Monday night following the probe into reports of shots fired inside an area home. Officers from the Charles County Sheriff's Office were called at around 7:40 p.m. on Sept. 23 to the 13000 block of Meadow Court in Hughesville to investigate the incident. Two people were arrested overnight after shots were fired during a standoff in Baltimore County that resulted in a temporary shelter-in-place order for some residents that has since been lifted. Some residents have been advised to stay in their homes as the Prince George's County Police Department continues to attempt to peacefully negotiate a barricade situation in Langley Park. Some businesses in St. Mary’s County have been instructed to shelter in place as the sheriff’s office investigates reports of shots fired. At approximately 1:15 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 18, members of the St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office responded to the area of MacArthur Boulevard in California to investigate.
