An alert was issued on Wednesday advising that the animal was found on Governor's Bridge Road, between Riva Road and St. George Barber Road on Monday, July 15. It has since tested positive for rabies, officials confirmed on Wednesday. According to health officials, "rabies is a viral disease that mainly infects mammals and is spread through the saliva of the infected animal, usually by a bite." Covid-19: This Maryland County School District Reinstated Mask Policy Before Start Of The Year Students and staff members preparing to return to the classroom in Prince George's County will be required to mask up as the district contends with the latest wave of new COVID-19 cases. District officials announced on Friday, Aug. 12 that they are updating the mask requirements in all schools and facilities “until further notice,” beginning as of Monday, Aug. 15 following a recommendation from the Prince George’s County Health Department.
