Support Pours In For Family Of Teen Killed In Maryland Townhouse Fire: ‘Immense Tragedy’
Support is pouring in for the family of a Maryland teen who was killed in a fire earlier this week. Katie Chase, 15, died in the fire on the second story of a townhome on the 11500 block of Shell Flower Lane in Columbia around 7:30 p.m. March 20. She is survived by her loving mother, Sue; and her sister, Nicole. More than $8,500 has been raised on a GoFundMe created by loved ones to support the family following the fatal fire. Colder Air Mass Could Bring Snow To Parts Of Region
An unseasonable stretch of springlike temperatures will be followed by the arrival of a colder air mass that could bring a round of snowfall next week. The potential for snow could cover a stretch of about 2,000 miles, according to AccuWeather forecasters. A Hurricane Watch has been issued along Florida's East Coast as newly named subtropical storm Nicole makes its way toward the East Coast. Nicole, located about 380 miles east-northeast of the Bahamas as of early Tuesday morning, Nov. 8, is moving northwest. A turn toward the west and west-southwest is expected later in the day, and that motion should continue through Wednesday, Nov. 9, the National Hurricane Center said.
