A veritable cache of weapons was recovered from two homes in Anne Arundel County after a 27-year-old man was busted on drug charges during a traffic stop in Edgewater, police say. Edgewater resident Benjamin William Monias is facing drug and weapons charges amid an ongoing investigation that all began on Wednesday when detectives conducted a traffic stop in the area of Central Avenue and Muddy Creek Road on Oct. 2. A Harwood man has been arrested after allegedly assaulting several family members over the weekend, authorities announced. Anne Arundel County police were called to the 4700 block of Flanders Lane around 9:30 p.m., Sunday, March 12 after receiving reports of a shooting. Investigators learned that Robert Lee Bias Jr. was outside of a residence arguing with his mother when he reportedly grabbed her by the jacket, causing her to fall down the porch steps. The Independent Investigations Division (IID) of the Office of the Attorney General has released new body-cam footage from a fatal police-involved shooting in Harwood last month. On Wednesday, Sept. 17, Harwood resident Anthony Hopkins, Sr. was shot and killed by police investigating a violent domestic incident after he allegedly fired gunshots at a cop car and point his guns at officers, who returned fire. A former Maryland Motor Vehicle Administration (MVA) employee will spend months behind bars after being sentenced for providing fraudulent driver's licenses to unqualified motorists - many in the country illegally - who were willing to pay a fee, federal authorities announced. National Search Continues For Maryland Teenager Missing Since January
The National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) is seeking the public's assistance in locating an Anne Arundel teenager who has been missing since January. Brittany Brodie, 15, has been missing from Harwood since January 27, the NCMEC said. She is described as a Black female, standing 5-feet tall, weighing 130 pounds with black hair and brown eyes.
