Gas Tax Hike Effective In Maryland, Virginia July 1
Buckle up: Gas prices are going up in Maryland and Virginia on Friday, July 1. Maryland's gas tax is almost 43 cents a gallon while Virginia's is about 28 cents. The bill suspends the collection of the tax, which is $0.36 per gallon, for up to 30 days. "This bipartisan action will provide some relief from the pain at the pump and it is possible because of the prudent fiscal steps we have taken, which have resulted in a record budget surplus,” Governor Hogan said. “This i…

The Gas Tax Could Be Up In Maryland — If Gov. Hogan Approves
Maryland State lawmakers have passed a measure to suspend a fuel tax in the state for 30 days, WJZ reports. If passed by Gov. Larry Hogan, the bill would suspect the collection of the tax — $0.36 per gallon, as gas prices hit record highs. Senate just now unanimously passes SB1010 gas tax holiday bill. The legislation now goes to the house. This morning the House passed the same bill and sent their version to the Senate. When the chambers sign off on each other’s bills they will go to the Governors desk — David Collins (@dcollinsWBAL) March 17, 2022 Hogan could sign the bill as early…
