The District man who repeatedly stabbed his unconscious victim to death during a knock-down drag-out fight in Southeast DC will spend more than a decade behind bars, federal authorities announced. Another pedestrian has died after being hit by a car on Indian Head Highway in Fort Washington, authorities confirm. Huerta Melendez, 56, was fatally struck by a car around 11 p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 11 while working on a roadway construction site on Indian Head Highway near Kerby Hill Road after a vehicle drove through a closed section of roadway, according to Prince George's County police.
