Drug Bust: Firearms, Porsche, $138K In Cash Seized From Four Virginia Men, Cops Say
Police have made four arrests and seized a mass quantity of drugs and evidence in a Virginia bust.
Matthew Powers, 33, of Alexandria; Mondell Opoku, 32, of Woodbridge; Andres Blacno, 27 of Clinton, MD; and Ali Banihashemi, 32, of Burke; were charged with various drug offenses and more, Fairfax County police said.
An investigation into the four was launched in March 2023 following a tip into a drug distribution ring in the Mount Vernon District, authorities said.

A 21-year-old hospital worker in northern Virginia was arrested on accusations he twice fondled a patient's genitals, authorities announced.
Hektor Fernando Alvarez was hired by Metropolitan Healthcare Services (MHS), a company contracted by Inova Fair Oaks Hospital in Fairfax, at the time of the assaults, Fairfax County police said. He has since been fired.

$3,000 Worth Of Merchandise Reportedly Stolen From Fairfax Ulta (Update)
Two suspects allegedly stole $3,000 worth of merchandise from an Ulta store in Fairfax County, unconfirmed reports and authorities said.
Police responded to the robbery at the store, located at 6575 Frontier Drive in Springfield, just after 9 p.m. on Friday, May 27, Fairfax County Police said.
The two suspects, both described as males, confronted store employees and one of them displayed a gun before fleeing the scene, police said. No injuries were reported.
They were last seen running on foot. The investigation is ongoing.
Annandale Woman, 83, Sole Victim Of Crash That Injured 4 Pedestrians: Police
One person has died from injuries sustained during a crash in Annandale last week, authorities said.
Eileen Garnett, 83, of Annandale, was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries after a crash that occurred in Annandale around 11 a.m. on Friday, May 20, Fairfax County Police said. Garnett died from her injuries on Wednesday, May 25, police said.
Initial investigation revealed the driver of a 2008 Nissan Sentra jumped the median and struck four pedestrians in the parking lot at 7263 Maple Place after losing control of her vehicle, police said.

Fairfax County Police Use Undercover Operation To Arrest Two Armed Robbers
Fairfax County Police recently apprehended two armed robbers through an undercover operation.
Donavan Rice, 29, of Washington, D.C and Ronnell Delonte Garris, 28, of Maryland, were allegedly behind two robberies that occurred earlier this month.
The first happened when victim arranged to meet someone to buy a tablet computer through an online marketplace in the parking lot of 6600 Springfield Mall on May 7, police said. When victim showed up, one of the men got into the victim's vehicle, displayed a gun and stole their money, police said.
