Bed Bath & Beyond Closures Include Nine MD, VA Locations
Nine Bed Bath & Beyond stores across Maryland and Virginia are among 87 locations scheduled to close in 2023, the struggling retailer announced. That brings the total number of Bed Bath & Beyond locations scheduled to close to at least 162 announced since September 2022. A spokesperson told Axios that the latest round of closures will include all of the company's Harmon beauty shops, as well as five Buy Buy Baby locations. NASA Rocket Launch Will Be Visible In NJ
A NASA rocket set to launch early Monday, Nov. 7 will be visible along the East Coast. The Northrop Grumman’s Antares rocket and Cygnus cargo spacecraft had initially been set to launch Sunday, Nov. 6, but were postponed due to a fire alarm at Northrop Grumman’s Cygnus spacecraft control center in Dulles, VA. Monday's launch is set for 5:27 a.m., EST. A color-coded map from NASA shows where the rocket will be most visible (see above). Wegmans Says Goodbye To Plastic Bags At Virginia Stores
Customers will soon no longer be able to get single-use plastic bags at Wegmans stores in Virginia, the company announced this week. The grocery chain said stores in Leesburg, Dulles, Potomac, Lake Manassas, Virginia Beach, and Charlottesville would stop using the bags beginning on July 1. Wegmans in Fairfax and Richmond counties have already phased out single-use plastic bags. Customers can purchase paper bags for 5 cents each or bring reusable bags for their groceries.
